go the 255/85s they are taller and the narrow tyre works well on most surfaces, i have a friend who runs 33x10.5s which is basically the same size and it always supprises me how much traction he gets especialy in the mud, did you make the shock towers your self? how much high do they come out of the inner guards at that length?
255's are an excellent compromise IMO.
You have a bigger range of tyres to choose from with the 285/75, but you need at least a 7.5" rim and a fair bit more offset to prevent rubbing.
The 255 is a touch taller, but there's bugger all in it.
I'm cheap, so I run 255's as they fit the 130 rim.
Cal are you talking about the front shock mounts, how far they protrude through into the engine bay. only about an inch. yep made them my self.
Yes, i need to lift mine atleast 4in higher if i use the procomp shocks i have now, they are bloody long, what did you use to make the uprights and how hard was it to bend up?
I used 16mm solid rod, bent them in a press with a V block, but the next ones I make I am thinking of using U bolts from a truck leaf pack they should do the job and are pre bent perfectly round at the top.

rick130 is that brake disc excessivly worn or is it just the angle of the pic, worn on the inside face.
Actually, I'm damned if I can make anything out of the rotor on that one ?
They are slotted rotors, and while I haven't mic'ed them for a long time, there's plenty of slot depth left.
Cal, from memery the U bolts are quite long at a guess about 400mm long.
Rick your caliper probably needs an over haul as could have siezed pistins on one side of the caliper.
I am making some relocation cones today, I am going to use the old front shock turrents and cut it down and bolt it to the rear top spring perch. hope it works
