Thread: Defender Cargo Barrier

    Here a pic of the half height barrier I made for my Puma Defender.
    I have just added the shelf for a centrepole type tent.

    You will see from the photo of the 110 on its side (roof shot) the cargo barrier wore through the roof just near the Alpine window (road). I think it did its jopb.

    The police recon I picked up a nail from a previous truck spillage and when I rounded the courner the tyre was deflating and then flipped.





    Seeing this picture prompted me to start looking for a roll cage. I always knew there is a safety risk involved in buying the Defender but I thought of it more as something that can be controlled by sensible driving.

    In reading about what happened to you in this situation, it never really occured to me a rollover was really ever probable. Now I think differently. I could never live with myself if I had my kids in the car and didnt take all precautionary saftey measure to avoid a fatal rollover whilst owning a Defender. Maybe I am being overboard but, thats the safest way to be outside of never owning a Defender.
