there is an ecu for something down there i think...
Just a quick question, Anybody know if there is anything in the drivers seat box on one of these things? Reason for asking thinking of fitting water tank. Would have a look myself but mine is at dealers having propshafts changed, no greese nipples. Thanks

Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
Lucas 10A Alarm ECU, BCU and a few relays, I think the Wabco D ECU is up on the driver's side wing, but it may be under the seat too, can't remember. But you've just reminded me of another area I have to check the seals on
There's actually only one or two cable grommets going into the box, so it's reasonably sealed provided they are tight.

NO GREASE NIPPLES? are they sealed or did they forget to put them on?
Dont know , had noise in drive train since new. I know it had no greese nipples. Its been at dealers almost 2 weeks now while LR and dealer solve some tech quesion. Also had strange rattle in area of ABS comp. when slowing to approx 1700 rpm in 5th gear but this was traced to pipes uncliped from mount point. Hae been promised it for friday so we will see. Allan
Hi Allan, if it is a TD5, all the engine management electronics are located there. However, it is possible to relocate them to in between the front seats as there is sufficient length of cable to allow it.Check "Mungo"s Land Rover website to see what he did. A neat solution that frees up the under seat space and also raises the ECUs further out of harms way. Haven't done this yet but it is on the list.Cheers, 130man.
