Hi guys,
Just in the painfull process of putting the dash back in the defender 12th month 99 (td5), so it is before my02 dash update. and similiar to a tdi i think.
But i have come arcoss a few parts that i can not find a place for, there is a photo below, the top parts is moulded plastic and the bottom three are black painted sheet metal. any help would be great.
Thanks Ben...........
PS. the cut outs in the third piece down are cut out by a pair of tin snips, maybe for a switch of some sort.

The plastic piece covers the wires coming from cigarette lighter and wiper switch (older 300tdi anyway) in the middle of the dash parcel tray. The bit with the tin snips looks like the rubber insulation retainer under the driver or passenger side I think both have them.
Thanks guys, I have 2 of the 4 pieces sorted from the information supplied.
The top piece in the photo as stated is to cover the wires in the centre of the dash/parcel tray.
The bottom piece in the photo is attached to the bottom of the instrument cluster plastic surround.
That leaves the middle two pieces?
The second from the top I still have no idea. It has marks from being bolted to another surface on the top two mounting holes.(these holes are open on the top edge.)
The third from the top has three round holes and these line up with the plastic plugs/holes which secure the lower part of the dash on the drivers side however where the sections that have been roughly removed with tin snips, no corresponding marks are on the underdash a/c unit from being mounted together. Also these pieces that have been removed line up with no obvious mounting bolts including the clutch tower.
Any further help or ideas would be great.
Thanks Ben.
my bad on the wording..
the third one is the retainer for the rubber matting and bolts on under the dash, the hand done cutouts fit over the the bolts that hold the top of the clutch pedal tower.
the second from top looks like the one that bolts in to hold the aircon switching.

Hey guys,
I have worked out 3 of the 4 objects, but I have come across 2 other parts...
A photo of the original part and the two new parts are below.
Thanks for help already, making the job a lot easier.

the plates appear to be spacer plates for either the door hinges or the door locks.

A few years back I took the heater out of my 300Tdi Def, and the heater unit from under the bonnet, it had those spacer plates under it's mounts that went against the firewall/footwell.
I was wrong about the other piece see nex post!!
Any help?

The funny shaped oe with the rectangular hole in, is the steel bracket that sits under the front of the cubby box / centre seat and holds the OB2 Diagnostics plug.
like so: (ps ignore the coffee spill)

Thanks everyone for the help, that should be it for the moment.....
Now the fun task of putting the dash back together.
