Thread: Fuel breather location on 07+ defenders

It should be a 6mm diameter black tube ending in a U-bend somewhere around the chassis ail on the driver's side between the spring and the fuel filter. I extended mine before I did anything else to the vehicle on advice from Sutton Motors in Alice. I fitted an extension of tubing on to it and ran this up behind the indicator on the driver's side rear. Also do your rear diff breather as it is fairly short too.

not if your looking for the old position...its on the passenger side

Hmmm, you may be right It's been 9 months since I fitted it and I'd have to go have another look. Either way its a black piece of tubing that goes nowhere and comes from the top of the tank.

OK - I will look on both sides then. It is too dark ATM so I'll check it out in the morning.

I was expecting to see it on the fuel filler side for some reason, so I didn;t even look on the passenger side.

I have repositioned all the breathers on the Puma 130's I have as customers,(Only 2 so far) up to behind the cab attached to the cab guard, with a Small plastic fuel filter on the end.

its deffinatly the pasenger side for ol position.....your asking a breather expert here

been under that car and spent enough hours chasing the special service message from the uk to know it was the passenger side

Just for the record:

Mine is the later version that came with the pipe on the driver's side...above the chassis rail. Not much of an improvement if at all.

It was then relocated by the installer when the 45l auxilliary tank was fitted in the rear guard. It now sits higher on top of the new tank high up in the guard. I'm not planning to go deeper than that and so far it seems to be out of the way of wheel spray.

my feb 2008 one had a simliar one to my old td5 which extended over to the left hand back wheel arch, curved up under the back inside panel and had some type of non return valve in it, I extended and raised to the height of the snorkel anyway
