You can source power by splicing one of the 30 - 60 amp fused power feeds in the engine bay fuse box.
Just remember to put an inline fuse and not to overload it. Not that you are likely for the accessories you mention.
Hi all
What's the best place for an under bonnet 12 volt feed on a 300TDi to run accessories (hot water shower pump)? Are my only choices the alternator or starter?
I am just being lazy - not wanting to run cables all the way to the battery under the seat.
Cheers
Andrew

I run my spotties and Traxide Kit straight off the alternator
I do have an uprated alternator though. I may be worth just checking to make sure you won't end up placing to much strain on the alternator
Resurrecting an old thread..
I want to upgrade the headlight wiring in my 2011 Defender. Where's the recommended 12v source under the bonnet? Or should I be chasing back to the battery?

Alternator or starter...
What about a winch? I have 150amp alt.
Roger - thank you.
