    Maxxis MT 753 (LT235/85/R16)

Not many reviews on this tyre but the couple I came across were not negative so thought I would give them a go. Apparently lot of em being fitted to troopys lately.

I got these tyres in Warrnambool on the weekend for $235ea balanced + fitted. Maxxis MT 753 (LT 235/85/R16, 10 ply). More like a muddie (look like buckshots) but the tread blocks are closer together so not as aggressive. But there definitely is muffled hum on highway (not as loud as my previous Cooper STT muddies) and tread rumble as you come to a stop. I really like the look and build of em but I need to get used to the highway hum again. On dirt trails they ride well and seem to take the pot holes and rough ground nicely (even at 43psi front and 45psi rear) and ride better than the std General Grabbers that were on there. Will give it more testing at Mt Cole (near Grampians somewhere) this weekend. Still need to assess wet road handling, rocks and mud.

    Will update in due course.

    Had those on my cruiser.
Seemed like good tyre, not too noisy and were pretty good on a variety of terrains.
Would have kept em if they were the correct size for a Deefer.

After a wet weekend at Mt. Cole I had a chance test tyres out further.

On the tarmac I could completely eliminate all tyre hum by increasing pressure by 2-3psi (47psi front, 49psi rear). Was fully loaded with camping gear the tyres rolled easily on take off and thereafter.

Very good performance in general mud, ruts and slippery rocks in varying upslopes and down slopes

This was all done at full road pressures as I had left compressor at home, so I have no doubt they would have performed better at lower pressures. No puntures no major scuffing (was in alot of ruts with tree roots and rocks) .

I also found no change in fuel efficiency on tarmac (9.8 - 10.4L/100km) once I inflated to higher pressures.

Still early days, but very happy with performance, price and quality so far.

Will update on wear rate with more use.

    I've got the Maxxis Mudstar's on my D1. LT235/75R15
Have done roughly 7-8 thou on them so far.Mostly running too/from work/shopping/mates.My yard is very prone to flooding,so there's been plenty of sticky mud around these last few weeks. So far haven't been able to fault them.
