Thanks for the info - useful to know the likely costs ... bit rich for me at the moment, too

I don't have a TD5, but I noticed this on the Exploz site (aulro sponsor). At $80 it sounds like a bargain.

    Cruise Control for Defenders

Our cruise control for the Land Rover Defender TD5 is the perfect accessory for driving long distances. It holds the speed until the clutch, break or accelerator pedal is pressed. It is operated via two little switches in the dash facia. One switch for setting or increasing the speed. The other to stop or resume the cruise control.

The cruise control disables itself, if the engine cannot maintain the speed or you are driving below 40kmh.

All necessary cables, switches, connectors and installation instructions. The cruise control functionality is already part of the engine management unit of the TD5. Our kit just activates the function.

The cruise control is suitable for Land Rover Defender TD5 from MY02 to MY06. Please check with us, by providing the part number of your engine management unit.
