Questions to Puma owners re immobiliser/alarm

After my recent tangle with the new 130's alarm (SOLVED - Help please with that BLEEPING PUMA alarm) I decided to RTFM to see what else I was missing. Now the manual, in all its brevity, does mention a procedure for un-locking the immobiliser in case of a key fob failure/loss. It requires the entry of a security code via the ignition lock. I thought that info might come in handy, out near Whoopwhoop the day the fob expires. Funny thing is, I wasn't provided any such security code . I contacted my dealer, and they told me there was no such thing as a security code for my vehicle . I also mentioned that I wasn't given a security code for the radio ... but no such thing either apparently

Ok, so who's right, the manual or my dealer? Were any of you kind Puma owners out there provided with such code(s)? If the answer to that is 'No', does that mean the immobiliser is un-locked by key alone?

    Thanks for your help.

The manual refers to the procedure for entering the code. I was not given the code and had a rather heated conversation with the sales people who were adamant there is no such thing.
After insisting with the people in the service department, who have different computer systems they actually found my code in the system and wrote it down for me.
    It does exist. Be firm.
    Cheers

Should not be activated on the Australian Puma's. I questioned this as well and was told we don't have it activated.

I also asked about the alarm code and was told similarly

BUT I was given the code for the audio unit and have used it.

This is what they told me as well. If my fob broke I was to just use the key. I unlocked the car for them with the key and the alarm went beserk when I opened it and it would not start. So they looked for the code and sure enough they found it.
Have not used it yet, but I did have to on my Discovery before this.

There is both a radio security code and a engine security code - I was given both, and have used the radio code for my replacement (under warranty) stereo. This is fact, period.

I have the radio code and have used it on several occasions now. EKA though remains a mystery. Will check again and get back to you on this one.

It worries me a bit that I'm confusing the service advisor of what is arguably one of the larger LR dealers in this country, who presumably has access to the technical experts, as well as a direct line to LRA

Looks like I will just have to try this out ... I'll do it at 2 a.m., that should even the score with my neighbour's stereo

Separate key from fob and see what happens

Like Kenley I separated my key from fob and no way would the engine start with key alone in ignition - even with the fob only 500mm away from the key.
