    Welding on body

    I have just started welding up a canopy for the rear tub of my TD5 130 and it wont be long before I would like to mount it up. Before I weld it while mounted on the vehicle, is there anything that I need to do such as unplug the main earthing or disconnect the ECU?

    Just looking for advice and dont want to go wrecking things by mistake.

    I think all you need do is to disconect the battery.

    And, put the earth clamp as close as you can to the part being welded.
