I assume you mean 285/75-16???

They will fit, provided you have springs with 1 or 2" of lift and the righ wheel offset. Too little, and they will scrub on the radius arms and rear spring towers, too much, and they will scrub the guards where the flares attach - and rip off the plugs which attach the flares.

The prices for those wheel mods sounds a bit $$$. Have you tried summerfield engineering?

I will check the size again,they are at my workshop, I am sure it is 285/70 16". My calculation works out at 31.7" where my current tyres are 235/85 16" also works out to 31.7" (please help if I am wrong).

If it is the case that they are going to rub all over the place I think I will put them up in the Market Place and get a size that will not require that much modification. Do you have an idea how wide/high I can go before it starts to rub?

Regarding the the cost for the mods, I spoke to a gentleman at summerfield today and he mentioned about $40 for the transfer of the centers and about $80 for the new bands. These prices are not "quoted", just ball-park. I asumed they did not include sandblasting and powdercoating/painting which I can get done for $60 per wheel.

Hi there Ben,

Checked the tyres this moring and they were 265/70 16". This changes things a little. I know that I will loose about 13mm ground clearance on the diff centers but I am prepared to live with it. I am going to fit 30mm spacers up front just to level her out. Do you think that will help the tyres to clear all the rubbing points you mentioned?

What do you mean 30mm spacers? Wheel spacers? Coil spacers?

265s fit fine, but on standard disco rims they will scrub the rear coil turrets and the radius arms on the front. With disco rims modified to have an extra 15-20 mm offset they should clear everything.

Coil Spacers. It looks like I am always driving down hill.

I think I will get them fitted and see what will hapen.
