Door posts.
Hi All,
Just wondering if anybody has replaced the front doorposts that attach to the bulk head on a Defender. Any pointers?
Also does anyone know where they can be sourced in Australia? I have come across a few UK sites that have them but that's about it.
Thanks.

It can be done. A series 3 A-pillar is the same as County, 200tdi and 300tdi. Not sure about TD5 and Puma defenders. I had it done on my 300tdi firewall a few years ago. I recently noticed surface rust under the door seal where the new and old piece join.
I had the option of buying a new firewall from Land Rover for about $1300. I wish I had done that now as have found other flaws caused problems with front doors closing. It is a big job changing a fire wall. The advantage is you can get it galvanised (risk of warping and captured nuts need to be retaped - my captured nuts let go so a bit of a hassle), cover with sound proofing, fill cavities with wax oil while upside down and laying down so it gets in everywhere.

I have just started a thread on a repair job, I've nearly finished the firewall & will update it later next week. I tried to source replacement pillars without luck but they have tidied up pretty well by using angle etc.
