Thread: what would you pay for a 93 defender

I don't know how much, but that sounds like low kms for the age. I'd look to see if the bits that wear are commensurate with such low mileage, or if it has a service history.

I would think that is to the expensive end of the price range.

I would pay that if:

• Has a good service record - or evidence of regular maintainance.
• No serious rust
• Good tyres, brakes and almost Roadworthy
• Not too rough on the inside

At that age look for rust on the bulkhead around the brake master and behind the heater box, also around the vents is a possible and the bolts that holed the windsreen clamp to the bulkhead inside should be inspected, don't pooh your pants should it be rotten in these places, just means you have a bargaining tool,
But you will have to do some yakka to put it right bulkhead $1000 labour two grands worth of **** lol, then look at the transfer case for leaks same for the gearbox, $1000 for the transfer case if you farm it out,dunno about gearbox overhaul 3-5 maybe.
At the age it is it will show wear and tear but if you want it badly you know what you are letting yourself in for so should adjust your price in accordance to what you are capable of doing and what needs farming out and get quotes is my best guess regards Andy
