I'd call LR assist and let them make the call.

SubscriberOK - So after 5 weeks in the dealers to have the fuel system repaired. I pick up my Puma yesterday - Drove it home. This morning when it started it's missing really badly and blowing white smoke. This cleared after a few minutes. I figured it must be some left over cleaning fluid or something like that. But then when I filled it up with diesel it's pouring diesel out of the fuel tank from somewhere. After a few minutes the diesel stopped leaking - so I drove it home - but when I got it home it's started pouring/ dripping out again.
I'm a bit reluctant to drive it back to the dealers cause I don't want the be the person who causes some poor sod on a motorcycle to drop his load on the spilled diesel.
FYI- There's a new breather system on mine now - to replace the crappy located My09 breather. not sure where it ends up but there's a long pipe in it's place now that runs up the rear of the body work.
I figure I'll take advantage of their roadside assist and get it flat bedded back to the dealer. To be honest I'm a tad annoyed - it went in for a number of other warranty items - which seem to have been only partially completed again, (second visit for these items). To top it off there are various parts left in the rear load area. You'd think 5 weeks would be enough time for someone to check their work. So far out of the 6 months of ownership it's been in the dealers for nearly 2 months......
p.s Being a sucker for punishment - I really like the look of the 110 Crew Cab, apparently it's quite a bit cheaper than the 110 Station Wagon. Has anyone seen one in real life? Is the load area big enough for a few bales of hay?

 2005 Defender 110
Have a good look in the owners manual/service book,as there used to be a clause that said if you were not happy with a repair & contacted them within 7 days they would pick it up.
i bet its not in there anymore, but its worth a look. I would look in juniors but he is away on Moreton island giving it a test run in the sand
bilbo,a call to LR in the UK may help, hope you get it sorted.
Well done for getting it carted on a flatbedfrom a concerned motocyclist
Oh and good luck with the warranty claim

SubscriberHi All, thanks for the replies. It left this morning on a flat bed. Leaking diesel. But I got to test out the Anti Stall by driving up the flatbed. Might need to submit a new slogan to Land Rover "Anti Stall - A new feature for allowing you to effortlessly drive onto the tow truck for your vehicles long journey back to us"
Just added up that out of the last three months it's been in the workshop 7 weeks.
I'm curious what would cause the white smoke on startup - It must be unburnt diesel. So that must mean that the injectors are pooched? or could there be some other cause? It's doing it now each time I start it up and raise the revs to 1000rpm, does it for about 10 seconds then eventually comes clean. I can feel it missing.

Hi In my experience the injectors are not spraying fuel , they are dripping fuel into the cylinder. Possible low fuel pressure ?
Not totally up to speed on the common rail yet.

						SubscriberThanks for the reply,
Well it's back now and appears to be all fixed - except for a small amount of unburnt diesel at startup - it does seem to be improving though. I'm going to leave it for a while and ask them at the next service to check the rail pressure and see if it's leaking down. I'll keep an eye on the sump oil level in case it's really leaking!.
Anyway I'm back to happy, the power of the Puma is awesome compared to the other TD5 I have!...
