Wow - I was too scared to drive mine when it started leaking diesel - with my luck I could just see me making the news on charges of manslaughter for killing some guy on a bike..
Guys, filled the county up for the 1st time in 2 years that ive had it.... yep it gets great economy with no engine....
Anyhow... filled it up to the brim and i went a paid and as i was paying i noticed a puddle forming under it really quickly.....
The servo guy told me not to leave and i said yep and had a look... the leak was coming from the top of the tank and ****ing out.... so i waved and headed off to find the nearest fwy to get the gas guzzling thing down to a 3/4 level.
By the time i had driven down the eastern to doncaster road and tunred around the leak had stoped, but still had a smell.
I took it home and cursed about having a full tank, fuel leak and no jerry cans to put the fuel in. i dropped the front of the tank down a smidge to look to see if the top was rusted or had a leaking fitting....
BETTER...... a Split hose.
The Hose from the top of the tank to the Evapotation tank in the rear quarter was split.
Access is via one way.... drop the tank... So i opened up the drain and let all the fuel run down my gutter and into the local storm water drain.......
Kidding..... i thought.... if Disco's have an inspection hatch for the fuel pump, why cant my County??????
So with some measuring and a hole saw i made a nice round hole to find the fitting that the poly hose goes onto...
Whats with LR anyhow... the hose was some light gauge poly crap that is like heat shrink...lol
Any how... i took it off both ends, replaced the hose and made a nice little Alloy cover for the 70mm hole i cut.
Carpet or mats cover it, so who cares.....
So there is my exciting story for the weekend....

Been there recently with the 40L sub tank installed with the LPG conversion. Anything above half a tank would leak and make the car stink.
Total and utter bastard of a job removing it. There were some non captive bolts with heads unreachable with the tank installed. Took hours to get it out.
The leaky hose was rock hard and looked like garden hose.
Getting it back in was even worse. Be happy to never do it again.
