			Replacing Dash Globes 2003 TD5 - Help

Just thought I would make this post more visible as new thread.

Need info on how to get to Speedo and clock globes in an 2003 fender. Does the clock multiplug just pull out and the globe is in the plug(seems hard to pull out)?. Also I have pulled both multiplugs from the speedo and they are not in the plugs.

Rave 2 CD not much detail.

 Has anyone already done this?

I am changing to T5 SMD leds in red

 Thanks

Ok so after playing around I worked it out.

To get to the 2 globes (which are T5's) in the speedo there are 2 holes on the back of the speedo. In these hole there is a blue globe housing in one and a black globe housing in the other. Use long skinny needle nose pliers or 2 thin flat head screw drivers and turn the square housing 90° to the left or right (doesnt matter) and the housing can then be removed or dropped out. Note the globes actually have integrated connectors (best way I can describe it). So this means the globe and the metal bits come out of the housing as one unit (just push in the metal clip things on the side and pull the whole unit out. I did replace these with leds. I basically broke the original globe to get the original metal connecting bits and soldered the connectors to the led. Actually very easy just very fiddlly cause the things are so small. Works a treat though. Will post pics soon for those interested.

The clock does not have conventional globes there are actually 4 small square looking leds. So there isnt much I could do to change the color of them. Might try using coloured cellophane on the back side of the clock face. To take the clock apart (dont see why you would have to...now that I have taken it apart, no replaceable parts in there) pull off multiplug at the back. Unscrew the white cylinder bit holding it to the facia. Pop the black trim off the front. The lense can just drop out. Pull off minute hand, pull off hour hand. Clock face drops out. You will then see the circuit board. But like I said nothing you can replace in there, so dont bother.
