Looking at the pictures and looking at the back of my Puma I would say yes it will fowl. The carrier's hinge sites to the right of the lower door hinge where the lamp guard covers in those pictures.
Hi Everyone
I am looking to fit a (bearmach or Mantec) rear wheel carrier with genuine lamp guards but I cant quite work out if they foul on each other, as you can see I've added some pics of the guards and the red defender is the mantec style, the white is the bearmach type so it looks like the bearmach type will foul on the lamp guard can anyone confirm this from experience ..
Cheers

Thanks DM
So it looks like bearmach one will definitely hit but mantec type will be ok.
Just got a Quote back from singapore for the mantec type of $566 posted to perth.
Have a look at the wheel carrier this German site. It looks very good.

Site is in German.
Who's your Singapore contact as that would be a possible cheap place for me to get stuff from too.

Hmmm not much of a website do they have a catalogue or anything?

Unfortunately no catalog but by sounds of it you get most mantec items.
I will email them again and see if they do a list or catalog.

Thanks for that singapore contact, I may also try them for some mantec goodies as postage to Darwin may not be so bad. Worth a try at least. I want to get a Mantec spare wheel carrier at some stage.....
Hi there, a while ago I have also thought of fitting a Mantec spare wheel carrier to my new Defender, but in the end decided on fitting the one from Australian Kaymar. And I do not regret it! The Kaymar carrier does not require any holes drilling in the rear panel, as it is fully supported on the chassis of the car. I think that is a big plus. Nothing wrong with the Mantec, but after having fit this Kaymar model, I think it is safe to say that the Kaymar is the sturdiest of all those wheel carriers. Only drawback in case of a stationwagon model is that it does open separate from the rear door, first the wheel carrier, then the door, but I find that not to be a problem. The only real disadvantage of the Kaymar vs. the Mantec is......$$$$$$, at least here in Switzerland. Still can recommend it though. Good luck, Eric
