Thread: 130 Defender seating

I think the middle front seat went out with the County. The early 200Tdi's may have had them in Australia as an option. New ones are only 2 buckets in the front.

As for 110's not a problem getting a "third row" in the wagon.

My 1992 200TDI had a bench seat standard.Middle wasn't very wide though.

I have had the front centre seat in my def 130 but not enough leg room so i bought a def 110 (got 4 kids) and got a rear folding seat from my brothers holden jackaroo and had an L shaped plate (350x200) made up to attach it to the top and side of wheel arch. It fits perfectly and folds away to the side as well. I got the guys who made the bracket to weld 2 small 50-cm long tube pieces on the corner and the holden seat slots in to it with a locking rod for easy removal( the locking rod is standard on the seat -thats how the seat is removed from the jackaroo. The only thing i havnt done is work out the locking mechanism on the other side (right side) or it can be left as is with the fold down seat bracket. The seat has its own seat belts attached so nothing to do there. They actually made me 2 brackets by mistake so i do have a spare as there's not enough width to put both seats in- all you need is a jackaroo rear dickie seat left or right- doesn't matter which and 4 bolts for the bracket.

Hey thanks for the help... so all is not lost by the looks of things... Bigmark may just take you up on that offer if we get it. You wouldn't have any pics of your setup by any chance would you? I'm familiar with the Jackaroo Seats and reckon I may even be able to get my hands on a dickie seat from one......

no probs here are some pics attached, there is a backing plate not pictured that is under the wheel arch- it is the same material as the bracket(3mm) and about 350x200. the bolts go thru the channel ribs that can be seen underneath the arch.

my wife is out with the defender at the moment but its about 400 to 500mm.
but thats just where i decided how much leg room for my 14 year old daughter should be, and its enough leg room for an adult so it could go forward some. are you thinking about an engel fridge?

The ARB but yep thats the thinking! lol. Although my other thought is to maybe put the fridge alongside the seat and a cargo barrier behind them to make maximum use of the available space. Catch is accessing the fridge could be painful then as far as filling it/getting stuff out when we are not moving.... The wife is definately softening to the idea of a Defender... just means my Rocky might have to go to make way for a Vitara LWB/Hyundai Lantra wagon or similar for her and I would HAVE to drive the Defender to work as my daily driver..... How will I cope
