    Disco roofrack on a Defender?

Are these compatible? I see plenty of allow racks for Disco's, but not many for Defenders?

I'm lead to believe that Toyota 60 Series racks are also compatible.

My steel rack is OK, but impossible to put on/take off on my own due to weight. Also, the less weight up top the better.

Maybe I should just get some Rhino racks and put a cage on it?

The problem is rigidity, or lack of it. An alloy rack may crack as the roof flexes. Some aftermarket racks are reputed to be stiff enough to cause roof cracking issues in a Defender.

The steel rack, although heavy, allows the Defender roof to flex a touch.

To answer your question, I have seen a cut down Defender steel rack on a classic Rangie. And it came of a Toyota Landcrusher. What model I don't know. But what you've heard does seem to be consistent.
