Its a white 110 with a black wrap around bull bar with side steps and black chequer plate on the fenders.. so I was thinking about painting them satin black. (and maybe the bar etc at the same time..)

BUT - the other day I saw a hilux with black sunnies on it.. and it looks really dodgy maybe black isn't the go! (or, its just the hilux that make it look crap )

Any ideas on a good colour? everything else is black or white so I really don't seem to have much choice...

Anyone got a deefer with black rims that looks good? Pics would be great

    What's the off-set mod you're referring to?

Moving the centre of the wheel in towards the car relative the rim. This makes the tyre sit furter away from the car, giving you back your turning circle when they have a larger diameter.

    hope that makes sense

With the D1 steel wheels does anyone know how much offset is required to get back your turning circle cf 5.5 X 16 standard defender wheels?
Depends on exactly where you weld the centres back on. The first set of D1 rims I had modified are +30mm offset (compared to a stock D1 rim) and flipped.

The second set are +20mm and not flipped - the place that did them machine down the lip on the centre so they don't have to flip them.

the first set have 285s and just rub on the rear where the flares meet the body. The 2nd set don't.

The D1s are 33 if I remember correctly so +20mm would make them 13mm. Is that correct?

    33s? Yes
Lift? Rear, no. Front, standard 130 HDs.
Rubbing? Not that I am aware of.

Sorry for the long winded reply.
