Swivel Hub Seal - l think?
Hi all,
In my Td5 Defender l have an oil leak from what l thin its the swivel hub seal. It is the part thathas the 4 bolts through it coming off the axel housing and just before the ball joint.
My question - l need to purchse the parts for it's repair at the mechanics (l get Rover parts cheaper which he has no worries with) - is that what it is called? Is that all l need?
Second - is it likely to cause detrimental oil loss in the diff itself? It is leaving a 50c coin oil patch overnight/2 days generally.
We though by draining the oil from the hub itself and filling with greece might stop it leaking for a while - but it has continued to leak!

I just call it the swivel ball seal.
Sometimes this seal leaks because the swivel bearings are worn, preventing uniform contact between seal and swivel ball.
