 95 130 Defender Diff mods/probs
		Hi,
Continueing a pretty torrid week for things mechanical (boats etc), I appear to have successfully terminated the front diff in my 95 130 Defender.
Can anyone tell me what two white crosses painted on the housing may be, mod wise? Apart from tombstones for the recently deceased differential, or little eyes to make a smiley face with the horrible gash that let all the oil out and displayed the smashed up teeth and stuff like that.
Maybe I'll be able to sort out how to put a photo up.

If you've benefited from one or more of my posts please remember, your taxes paid for my skill sets, I'm just trying to make sure you get your monies worth.
If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
AFAIR they are only to tell that it has been inspected and passed for something, at some point in manufacture, most have these white crosses on them.

						Fraz,
Thankyou for that offer, I will PM, if, like photos, I can work out how.
What happened was; after very successfully and purposefully testing out the newly fitted winch up a bit of an incline (playing only, not serious!) backed down, turned around, back on the road, almighty bang, and all over red rover. No rocks, no stakes, no mad wheelspinning, no real silliness at all.
The front of the housing has a gash, from the inside, about 75mm long and I can see an awful lot of broken bits inside.
Luckily, propshaft off, drive flange (maxi's) bolts out and home at reduced pace with CDL.
