						Hi guys
didnt really know where to post this but, i believe '94 and onwards defenders came out with about 31" tyres? due to the marvelous RTA's (new) restriction on tyre diameters - only allowed 50mm max over standard tyre - a classic rangie (29.5" standard) cannot pass with 33" tyres..
so i was wondering if you guys would know if >'94 defenders had the same or similar running gear as a '77 RRC - brakes, diff ect
thanks for any info, and excuse my newbieness

I also think the Deefers have bigger brake calipers etc. The Deefers also have (had) Salisbury rear diffs- much more heavy duty than Rangie.
Maybe if you say what your plan is, then it would help..
The Defender running gear is generally similar to the 77 RR, but for the 110 in particular (90s are very rare here) beefed up in a number of areas. Overall dimensions and attachment points are in general the same, however, I believe.
As noted, 110s had the much more solid salisbury rear axles until fairly recently.
It is probably quite feasible to put complete Defender running gear under a RR, but I don't know about legality.

						thanks for the info guys
might be simpler to please the engineer by putting 31's on to pass it (then swap em back after)
