2001 TD5 Defender front moulded matting removal.

On a couple of occasions I’ve had the need to lift the floor matts in front to air the damp/wet areas under the floor matts.

What a PITA . Has any one strategically cut the front moulded mat so it can be removed and replaced without the need to turn it into a major epic.

I cut it where the floor section meets the tunnel section if we are talking about the same thing, so the two floor panel sections can be removed leaving the tunnel section in the car.

    Psimpson7,

    Thanks that's what I'm after.

So just to make sure I have this right.

You cut along the bottom of the transmission tunel then around the front of the seat box. So the front, side of the seat box and the transmission tunel all remain as one piece. The "floor" sections cut along the fold and up the "fuse box" so each floor section comes out seperatly.

    Sounds like a plan.

    Thanks again
