Hi I am about to torque up my new 300tdi head that i got shipped from Turner engineering in the UK.
The problem i have is that the instructions that came with the head show the tightening order different to the defender manual.
The turner one has the number 1 and 2 bolts reversed for the order compared to the manual, the rest are the same.
So my question is what to do, i am guessing that follow the manual would be the best, but then again Turners must assemble 1000,s of heads each year- or is it just a typo.
I will contact them but i will not receive an answer until tomorrow evening due to time difference- hoping to get it done today, but looks like that wont happen.
Not a very important thing, the 1st and 2nd ones can be either way. More importantly go back over them after the first 45Nm setting, you will possibly find the first 8 may be loose again.
Personally I'd go with turners instructions....
