They dont 'need' 4 ohms.. they will just output their quoted wattage at 4ohms.. anything less and you will damage the amp.. anything higher you reduce the wattage output.
The 5th room ones are 6ohms.. which should be fine as you will still be outputting about 32watts max into them... and shouldnt cause and grief to the amp...
There are 4ohm ones available as i was looking into them for the boat. Try looking for Pyle boat / outdoor speakers on the net as they do a few 4ohm ones... other than that look for wakeboard speakers or similar. i ended up getting them shipped from the states. but went with 6x9's and a 7" component set (waterproof ones) for the same price landed as some crappy 4" ones here.
Thanks
Steve
The drawer system is finally in, and the speaker box was also part of the job. These are JBL GTO936's - the sound drowns out the ford's rumblings

I got the same speaker box's from Supercheap. They had a cataloge there of speaker spacers, dash pods, drink holders and such.
They hold standard 6 X 9 speakers. I have them mounted in the back corner of my duel cab, bolted as high as I could get them on heavy L brakets from Bunnings, I havent had the back seats in since I put them in but they look like they wont be a head room problem.
I cant remember the price but I think it was around $60
Sorry guys, havn't checked back in a couple of days, I got my speakers from strathfield car audio in thomastown. It was probably three years ago now... I'll have a look in the next day or so and see if I can get a manufacturers name off them for you.
Super easy to fit and wire though. I'm still happy with them.
Cheers
Lyle
Given that the back of my defender is generally packed when we go away (not so bad now without the kids), speaker placement was always an issue. Anyhow I've just moved them to high up on the rear of the cargo barrier.

From the cargo area they present a nice clean face so not going to get caught on things. (sheet of scrap aluminium).
This one was knocked up to fit the speakers I had but it would have been easier and cleaner looking with a new set of speakers (but I'm a tight arse)
Going to have to do something with the roof lining when we get back from the cape though.
