    Show us your Wind Turbine!

I don't see too many wind turbines on here so here is mine:

    It's just a little 600 watt unit.

    three blade, permanent magnet?

I spent a bit of time checking some "off the grid" windmill makers. ten foot blade on a 70 foot mast for approx 3 kW from a furling windmill. Would love to have a place where I could run a big windmill like that. I'd probably have more fun making it and putting it up than anything else.

    found it

I just wonder how will perform the ones used on the ocean going yachts.
Perhaps they are better than solar panels where I live.

I bought the turbine from American ebay for 84 bucks, the blades cost $100 and the circumference is about 52cm. The mounting bracket is just two pieces of steel welded together. It is held onto the bracket with three big house clamps. The tail is made from a piece of pine i had lying around and a sheet of perspex i had left over from building solar panels. So it's a hobbled together bought and built rat turbine

There's a 1kw wind turbine near my brothers place in Edithvale vic which is only a few hundred meters from the beach that seems to spin 24hrs a day. So in my opinion for alot of applications they are far superior to solar panels.
