    Charging jump pack

    Hi all,
I just bought a 6 in 1 jump pack which i will be using in my boat for running a set top box and charging phones etc. I just bought a 10w solar panel to keep the battery topped up or atleast not drain so quick. The solar just has aligator clips and until i make up a cord to go into the charge jack, would it be possible to attach the alligator clips direct to the jump leads and keep it topped up that way?

You can, but you will always be at risk of overcharging the battery if you don't have a load on it at the same time. Small solar regs are cheap enough to put one on the back of the panel.

Okay no worries. It was just one of those supercheap kits and it came with a voltage regulator so it wont over charge it. Main concern was would it send current through the leads. Great cheers
