I have a lot of power on my roof, more than I need.

But during the week my vehicle is away from the “pump” and I’m home when it’s late/dark. Like many who work, the vehicle is at work when the house is making power.

The power is "stored" in the grid, so you deposit it by day and withdraw it by night. The only reason this is not feasible is the inequity between the the price people are paid versus the price they pay to draw power. In my view it should be the same going in or out the grid.

Big News Trend setters My EV boat is likely to be far off shore chasing Tuna in a shorter time than I thought. Investment in research puts some significantly ahead of others perhaps?

China’s first large‑capacity (60 Ah+ class) all-solid-state battery production line built by GAC

China has completed its first large-capacity all-solid-state battery production line, according to Chinese state media. The facility, built by GAC Group, is currently producing 60 Ah+ vehicle-grade cells on a small-batch test basis. These cells are projected to allow electric vehicles with current 500 km ranges to exceed 1,000 km once integrated. Mass production is planned for 2027-2030.

    I have paid a deposit on a 115hp

Spell checked copy and paste for Eq
The range anxiety some feel in EV cars get real a long way from shore

It’s not stored in the grid at all. Except by those ridiculously over priced and underwhelming ‘mega-batteries’ that can’t sustain our plant for more than about 90 seconds.

Or the big lemon version struggling to commission and severely restricted in its output rating.

Night time power is generated from Coal, Gas and Occasionally Wind at prices that are total extortion.

I agree we should be paid wholesale input pricing…

Which is why I said "stored" a more literal description might be ''time shifted'' in the grid.

Yeah I knew what you were eluding to.
The whole thing is just an adhoc disaster at the moment.

It’s the transportation equivalent of the NBN

The problem is they have sold the grid to commercial interests. We've got little ability to control how private enterprises run. They will choose to run in a way that maximises their profits.

IMHO it's not renewables that are causing the problems - it's because we've privatised a services which should be run in the national interest. So we've got a whole bunch of people that don't care about the overall picture just trying to do whatever they can to make some money. And don't start me on gas..
