Tubed vs Tubeless

I did do a search but the threads semd to develop intio a beadlock discussion and Sikaflex vs Silicone for cheap protection

I have a set of Wolf Tubed rims( 5 ) and set of (4) Discovery One Tubeless rims ( Bugger just sold one or I'd have 5 )

So for desert , CSR and Vic mountains type trips are tubed or tubeless the go

a tube tyre is easier to get back onto the seats than a tubeless but is harder to assemble in the first placedue to the risk of damaging the tube on a assembly.

Dont try to run a tube type tyre without a tube in it. They usually let go when they warm up and If you're taking tubes take plenty of talcum powder.

If you're planning on working tyres in the field also make sure that you have liquid soap, a good ground sheet, a good compressor, some matches and a product like start ya bastard.

It was more about whether to run the tubed Wolf rims or tubeless Discovery rims as my trip spares with off road tyres of some sort.

Say for the CSR what would be best.

I would carry a second spare and try and avoid any on track tyre repairs

The Defender has the alloys fitted for Mon-Fri stuff but I heard breaking the bead if you absolutley have to is near impossible without a tyre press so they would not be my preferred off roading rims.

We used to use a dog and chain in conjunction with liquid detergent or hand cleaner to squeeze a tubeless tyre on to the rim bumps to inflate them. I like the idea of exploding them on using ether and a match.
