Gents, FInally got hold of a TD5 at the right price, 150,000k, history unknown. Mods start....now. Need some advice as follows.
Plan
"Refresh engine" - headgasket, injetor clean. Is there anything else I should do whilst I am there?
Intercooler - Any leads on off-the-shelf systems available in Melbourne, or via post appreciated.
Exhaust - Anyone in Melbourne you can recommend for complete system, including downpipe
Ceramic coat exhaust manifold - Jet Hot
Hybrid Turbo - TD5 ALive
Turbo Boost controller
ECU reflash - TD5 alive
LPG - Gastek system
Longrange tank - Longranger
Rocksliders - custom...unless anyone knows of some available off the shelf?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Hamish71,
I have just purchased a D2a intercooler that has a bigger core than the D2, you should talk to Toombie2 off this site re a remap... Done wonders for my Td5 he also has a boost box available and has a VNT turbo he can get hold of...

Check the oil pump bolt and fit a coolant level alarm, these should be on the top of your list..
Check out Triumphroverspares in SA as they have alot of stuff you may require and Phil is very good with just about anything related to TD5.
Cheers Ean

The infamous "Toombie" is da man when it comes to D2 performance mods.
His website is www.trt.net.au
For a D2, bigger intercooler, the one from a D2a is a straight swap & is bigger.
Toombie does a re-map of your ECU, and has many rave reviews. (Still to get mine - but SOON)
The exhaust manifold can be an issue, and you need to relieve the stress by grinding out the webbing between the studs.
Look for an EGR replacement kit. And I would also suggest that you clean the MAF, and check / replace all of the turbo hoses.
Oil in the ECU harness is another bug-bare with these, but is easily fixed.
Now, the answers to all of your questions can be found in 2 more places.
One is a thread called "The good Oil"
The other is the search function.
Both of these will give you hours of reading, and will give you answers to questions you dont even have yet.
Oh, and 2 more things:
1) Welcome to the fold
2) Before someone else tells you, the rules of this place are "it didn't happen without pictures" Post some up of your new pride & joy, and enjoy your stay with us.

Plan
"Refresh engine" - headgasket, injetor clean. Is there anything else I should do whilst I am there?
Intercooler - Any leads on off-the-shelf systems available in Melbourne, or via post appreciated. Earlier models benefit from a D2a intercooler, or a complete hi-flow unit is available (I can point you to my manufacturer)
Exhaust - Anyone in Melbourne you can recommend for complete system, including downpipe Stick with the factory pipe, but replace the centre box with either straight pipe or a straight through box. Nothing over 2.75" is recommended.
Ceramic coat exhaust manifold - Jet Hot Good move, destress the webbing as well
Hybrid Turbo - TD5 ALive Nothing but a bigger turbo, the VVT thats available is a better option, they are making a new batch now.
Turbo Boost controller This is not a TD5 alive part. But they are good
ECU reflash - TD5 alive I can help you here
LPG - Gastek system Not worth the extra weight (you'll ruin your load carrying capacity and exceed GVM to easily) the turbo/ecu will do.
Longrange tank - Longranger Not a bad option, but consider a belly tank (more capacity for your $$$)
Rocksliders - custom...unless anyone knows of some available off the shelf? Contact Simon at 4x4 intelligence for off the shelf or make your own
Thanks in advance.
See notes above...
