Love the Bereiv aircraft, especially the BE-103 & BE-200. Never had seen this one of theirs though.

I have the BE-103 as my desk top background.

I don't think VTOL is the right description for it, this craft used the Wing in ground effect to get enough speed to take off if I recall.

The russians made some incredible WIG (Wing in ground effect) aircraft (also called ekranoplane)

The cold war also produced the ultimates in aviation developments, the B70 Valkyrie and the SR71 Blackbird. Nothing since has come close. I thought the B58 Hustler was pretty cool too.
