I think you can fit D2 cruise control to a TD5 Defender, all you need is the switch and some wires. The cruise operates through the ECU.

Earlier Defender Td5's ECU doesn't support the cruise function. Being an '02 model, I would check this first before going any further.

Autron (http://www.autron.com.au/newweb/products/dbw.htm) make them.

A 02 defender will support cruise control.

You can either search the forum and find out how to do it or if you contact me i see a kit with everything you need and step by step instructions for fitting the kit. If you search ebay you should find my kits.

Thanks Guys

Pete , yours is just the rocker switch thingy.

Yes?

I am after a stalk type

Will investigate the D2 one. I will have to look at mine when it's back from Ritters. I think my 04 D2 is via paddles on the steering wheel

Yes mine works by a rocker switch which is housed in the steering column and works exactly the same as the system installed in the Discovery 2.

I have looked at supplying a stalk type kit but i think its just too expensive for the defender and dont think enough people will buy it then the rocker switch is so much cheaper.
