Best place is from the UK. They are about £10 + postage so under A$20.

LR P/N: YUG000540LNF

The switch itself is a latching switch with a light, this portion is exactly the same as the cruise control switch on a Disco2 and the facia's are interchangeable even with the switch blanks. However if you have to buy one here it will cost at least $40 now days I suspect.

I got mine from LRDirect.com at just over 6 quid - but they use a courier and the freight was high (I didn't mind as I had bought a couple of other larger items anyway). I did look at a couple of other places in the UK but didn't request a freight cost.

Dingocroft have a connector kit to suit (zzplug01) at just over 4 quid - they use Royal Mail so the freight was very cheap and quick.

Bump.

Anyone put these into operation?

I've been having a bit of trouble with connections - specifically with regard to making the LED work when the lights are on.

I'm currently running:

1. Highbeam power from truck.
2. Illumination power from dash
3. Nada
4. Highbeam power to driving light relay
5. Nada

Seems that the LED is connected to terminals 4 and 5 and requires positive 12v to terminal 5 and, presumably earth at terminal 4.

However terminal 1 switches to terminals 3 and 4.

WTF:confused:

Anyone?

Have a look here: Defender2 - View topic - Switch fascia (http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic552.html'start=18) There is a nice clear wiring diagram.

Cheers mate, knew things were a bit odd.

You use these yourself? If so did you wire to suit, or modify as described? (I'm thinking of going this way with it)

I recently wired my driving lights using one of those switches and a Traxide Defender combined headlight and driving light kit.
I wired my lights to suit the switch rather than modifying the switch. I figure this will be best in the event the switch ever needs replacing.

I will be posting a how to guide (with photos) as soon as I get the time to write it up.

Wired myself. I'd figured it out when I had the D2a as it is same switch just a different facia.
