that sucks, how badly is it chewed? if the PCB is intact you "might" be able to get a cheapie remote off eBay or from a wreckers and replace the PCB.
Cheers, Paul.

did you only get one remote with the car? they should have two and a spare normal key. if you are in the Sydney area give me a call i may be able to repair your key or clear the BeCM and program another key.
you can get me on 0421 509 083

I'd like to know how this is done as all information thus far indicates it is impossible to program another key to an exisiting BECM. (I need a second key, too.)

Rupert, you sound like a very useful bloke for us all to know :)
Can you do keyfob renews (resolder buttons, contact etc) like the link Ron posted above? and if so, what sort of price please? Bexley is a lot closer than the UK.
Cheers, Paul.

hi Paul
yes i can test units for correct frequency, range, refit buttons, battery connectors etc. cost to refit buttons with a new cover and clean up would be about $40-$50 plus postage. if it is not repairable i do not charge.
regards Rupert

Hi Rupert - sounds fair to me. Both of my keyfobs work, although sometimes a bit intermittently. I have replaced the batteries, battery cover, and button cover. Suspect they just need a bit of a refresh and checking connections to ensure reliable operation.
If you can PM me contact details I will send one of them to you for inspection/refresh.
Cheers, Paul.

hi paul
the most secure way is to send it to T.R. Spares Pty.Ltd 45 Fairford rd Padstow NSW 2211, as they handle all my valve blocks and BeCMs.
otherwise call me directly on 0421 509 083 and i can give you my details.

Hello there Rupert, Just noticed you mentioned valve blocks and BECM's, I had my keys done by the people in the UK at $100 odd each (bugger!) but am wondering if there are some other services you have available that I may need one day.
What exactly do you do with the BECM's and Valve blocks on a normal/regular basis?
Regards, Dave

hi Dave
i can clear a used BeCM and reprogram it for another car, read the key fob codes so remotes can be swapped between cars, change the spec on some units, such as one touch windows all round or alter programmed wash wipe etc, circuitboard repairs. some things i can do if you post just the BeCM but others i need the whole car.
i have been testing and repairing EAS valve blocks for workshops and dealers for over ten years. i can test a unit and tell you if that was the problem or not. when i repair a unit i only use the correct O rings and valves, not round section where they should be flat.
i have the equipment to interogate all landrovers back to 1988.
regards Rupert
