I know Inc won't beleive it but..

I set about fitting the Mud Pod with the switches etc. Got as far (today) as fitting the cigar lighters (for power sockets) - what a PITA.

Anyway it said to drill a 28mm hole so I went and got my holesaws and... 31 mm is the smallest. Typical.

So, I wondered, how am I going to do this... I drilled out as big a hole as I could with my bits, expanded it slightly with an old round rasp.. enough so that I could then fit in a sanding disc on my... DREMEL TOOL.

(The Dremel was a gift from my missus and I have never used one before).

What can I say.... I love it. I think I may become addicted and have to start cutting and grinding and...

Now I just have to work out what all the thingies that came with it do. Some are obviously for grinding, some cutting, some sanding, some mystery items....

Cool.

I used to think they were silly toys untill I had the need to use one, now I think they are great. Attachments for every job:)

I would have been stuffed if not for the dremil with a tiny dye grinder bit , when i snaped a drill bit off in a broken exaust manifold stud. Bloody briliant tools.

I first saw one in Jakarta in the early '70s when visiting an ex-colleague who was into model trains.

When I came home I bought one (being an aeromodeller and model boater).

Boy, has mine seen some use over the past 35+ years. :)

My "old" one is still going strong including cutting 4mm steel bullbar material for 3 hours...

I've got the new cordless as well - man -its versatile and gets used due to convenience on many more jobs where I wouldnt have got the Dremel out before.

Also got the engraver, drill press... Router attachment..

And a few weeks ago, their gas soldering iron

I just gave mine away. Never really had a need for it and when I did use it I found it to be frustrating and fiddly.
