Right lads, I am fitting a fuel injection system off an 1986 R/R to my 1981 3.5 Stage 1. Problem is the wiring harness does not seem to match the AFM (supposedly 88 R/R). The harness has a 7 pin plug whereas the AFM has a five pin plug. Can the two systems be wired together, ie: lose two wires from the 7 pin plug or can the plug on the AFM be changed to a 7 pin plug? Need help ASAP as this is my work vehicle and I have jobs awaiting and cash to collect.
Thanks.

Sounds like you have a hot wire EFI harness and the flapper sensor. They cannot be hooked together as the sensors on the earlyer flapper type Monifold are different. The hot wire one is a better one though

Sounds the other way around to me.
The MAF only has 4 wires.
I think you have a MAF not a flapper.
The correct air flow sensor has a flap inside which you can see by looking in, while the MAF (wrong) has a screen on the front and just a hole in it with a small hole on one side.
Look in markets to see a photo.
