Series 1 Bonnet

I know a Series 11 bonnet looks similar, but can anyone tell me whether they are the same as a Series 1 88/109.

The S11 has a flatter curve at front than the 109 S1.

No, and what is more, all Series 1 bonnets are not the same -88/109 are different from 86/107, and I have an idea that 80" are different again.

There are at least three different styles of Series 2/2a/3 bonnet (plain, deluxe and deluxe with wheel well) but all are interchangeable - Series 2/2a hinges and Series 3 hinges have the same holes although 2/early 2a have an additional hole. There are at least three styles of buffers for the spare, with one or two holes each.

I did realise this John, hence why I asked specifically for 88". And yes, 80" are different as well.

I thought you probably did, because of the way you asked, but others reading it may not have, so it seemed like a good idea to spell it out.

Further on the subject of bonnets, I would not be surprised if there was more than one 80" bonnet, and further to Series 3 bonnets, the Stage 1 bonnet is not interchangeable with other Series 2/2a/3 vehicles, but is interchangeable with 90/110 and Defender, up to the Ford engined ones, I think, although there may be clearance problems with the TD5.
