doing up the wheel nuts after changing my spring over and i snapped a wheel stud, thought one was loose when i undid the nuts
can i change the stud without removing the hub?
will the bolt sneak through?
any tricks to the job?

Depends how rough you wanna be (see my post on the "using tools properly thread" ;))
Roughly speaking:  take a new stud, grind a really good chamfer off one side of the flange and splines, sneak it between hub and rotor(disc), tighten and forget...
Otherwise hub off, separate rotor(disc), pull through stud.
Im sure Mr LR put five on there for a good reason... 4 spares!

umm....looks like its off with the hub, from memory a good rattle gun is handy for separating the rotor from the hub
