County parts purchase ...

G'day all,

I need to purchase a couple of bits for the County ...

2 x replacement gearbox mounts

2 x Head lights

1 x upper wing light

I don't have the parts manual as yet ... can anybody tell

1 - Are County gear box mounts interchangeable with later Defender 110 mounts? If not, what part number should I specify?

2 - Where is the best place for me to purchase parts in OZ these days?

Ebay has the lot just do a search for county parts most of the
stuff on there is sold by garry from CLR parts in wimmalee
i get most my rover stuff from him as his price's are good
and he has a great range of stuff

Just spoke to Gary from CLR - just up the road from me - he's checking on prices and has the gear box mounts. I went and checked and it appears I seem to have the old original sealed H4 head lights which will need replacing. Says he has an upgrade kit for brighter lights that require the fitting of a relay ... I am a complete numpty with regards anything electrical though - how hard is it to fit new lights with a relay?

I have to get these bits done for blue slip and rego ...

Relay kit should be pretty easy to fit - should come with step by step instructions. And is a very good idea. You should check with him that it does come with these instructions - if not, there are other kits that do.

I'd just like to mention that we have had good experiences with both of these companies when getting parts for our County. Apparently Gary from CLR parts used to be a Landy mechanic so he knows his stuff.

Thanks for the info on the relay kits ... Gary didn't have the kits, only the lamps for now, but I'll upgrade later and just refit the new ones for now to get me through blue slip/rego.
