step one: perfect a trade over 30 years
step two: identify all tools needed, organize
step three: build an awesome tool chest right before you retire so it can hang in a museum....
amazing craftsmanship!!!

That is absolutely high end art and superb imagination, not just craftmanship. Just think how long designing and drawing it must have taken before the construction started. I wonder how many test pieces were got through.

Whilst not in the class of Mr. Studley's masterpiece, these are still made. Have a look at Gerstner Tool Chests (http://www.gerstnerusa.com)
I have a small Gerstner bought at a Public Trustee auction and in need of total restoration.

MEANZ06,
There is a lot of stuff on the net
Henry O. Studley - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_O._Studley)
The H.O. Studley Tool Chest - Fine Woodworking Article (http://www.finewoodworking.com/PlansAndProjects/PlansAndProjectsarticle.aspx?id=27038)
I remember reading that it was given to the Smithsonian Institute but it seems it's now in private hands.

the information was given on the bottom of the poster, which I ordered from "Fine Woodworking" tauton press.
at that stage it was on loan to the Smithsonian....they said it had been in the one family for quite some time...I think Studley left it to a great grand father or such...then it got traded from one brother to another for the ford haha..

I watch the guy in the video on pay tv all the time, Woodworks is a great show. Pretty sure I have seen that episode, the host makes his own version of the tool box, not as elaborate but still very good.

Just found out that Gerstner have an annual sale in June each year. So, if you are in Dayton, Ohio, next June and feel like picking up an heirloom tool chest that can be passed on down the generations, look in.
