Hey Guys,

I currently have a terrible noise coming from my front output bearing. This horrendous noise and oil leaking profusely makes me believe that the bearing and seal are cactus.

The answer i seek is whether or not the bearing can be replaced in-situ or does the whole case need to come out?

Towards the other end of the car have any of you done a rubber donut to uni conversion and had dramas with leaking pinion seals? Since doing my conversion a bit over a year ago i have done 3 pinion seals and a bearing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Yes the seal and bearing can be replaced insitu on a LT230 TCase.

What sort of lift do you have under the wagon?
I wonder if there would be some value in balancing your shafts or checking for some other "vibe" issue. That sort of failure rate seems a little excessive.

Cheers for that.

It now has a 40mm OME lift but that has only gone in after the first 2 seals.

I am looking at getting the tail-shaft re-balanced to see if this helps. It is a rebuilt rangie shaft that i got as part of a conversion kit so i am assuming it was balanced then but i dont see it hurting having it done again.

Could vibration from unevenly worn tires do it?

My experience with the T-box output seals is fit genuine ones only and make sure 100% the faces where the seals sits have no damage / nicks at all!!
