Has anyone modified a D4 filler neck to take a hi-flo nozzle?

Some servos only have hi-flo!!!

I have... I had a long Rang tank installed.

There have been comments here that if you are careful you can use a HiFlow nozzle. With the standard filler neck.

What brand? did they modify the filler neck, replace the filler neck or fit a second one?

The original filler neck is removed. A single fuel cap still exists but inside is two filler tubes one for aux tank and one for the main. You can fill with high flow nozzles. I wouldn't run them at full flow however.

If you're careful not to insert the hi-flo all the way, you can manage to fill at reasonable flow rates without triggering the mis-fueling device. Takes a steady hand the first few times until you get it right.

I use a hi-flow every fill although this particular one is not as fast as some. I hold the nozzle hard and square against the filler but have to be careful to stop at the 1st sign of getting blow-back then go slowly from a distance if I want it filled right to the brim. I used a very fast one recently and couldn't fully open the nozzle but didn't make a mess either. I was initially going to fit a D3 filler neck but haven't bothered.

Does a D3 filler neck take a hi-flo and will iy fit a D4?

wozzlegummich,

D3 certainly does take a high flow no problems, not sure if they can be retro fitted.

As per Gordon's comment the D4 will take the high flow nozzle, but it is a little painful. I stoppped at the wrong pump once and persevered, but personnally I think it's quicker to use the regular nozzle and not have to concentrate!

Same same.

But if the normal bowser is already in use, then I will go for the hi-flow.
