I'm driving a series L/R truck cab, registered to carry 3 persons.(driver + 2 passengers). If I install genuine L/R rear seats ,am I allowed to carry my 2 passengers in the back instead of in the cab?

NB: Pre seatbelt laws.

Thank you W.

Can't answer your question about Qld regs, however I can tell you that sideways seated rear passengers run a significantly greater risk of fatal neck injuries from minor accidents than forward or rearward facing passengers.

Do you intend to completely remove the passenger & centre seat ? Otherwise you end up with 5 seats and the vehicle would have to be registered for 5 persons.
Even so I wouldn't think you could get away with that because the original seating was across the front.
If you install seats (genuine L/R or not) in the rear I think you would need an engineers certificate before they can be used.

I replaced the centre seat, which is quite useless because of the overdrive lever, with a cubby box.
