Hi Guys
Just in the process of putting a new intercooler in and revamping the front end, cooling and tidying up a few jobs too while i go... including binning the EGR.
Well the rad is partially blocked which wont help cooling, the egr system came off without a hassle... not even a sheared bolt!
I have taken the inlet manifold off to clean it so i can start from fresh... and my god! No joke there is a 6mm layer of sooty gunk on the inside of the manifold.. and its consistent all over the manifold. The freshly cleaned (couple of months ago) temp pressure sensor is caked in soot about 3-4mm thick and the old egr valve has getting close to 15-20mm of soot behind the valve... something makes me think it was leaking! :D
Now... is there any way of cleaning the inlet ports without removing the head? and without causing issues later?
INterestingly the inlet manifold bolts were not tight.. maybe just over hand tight...
I have also found a freshly started oil in harness, so that will be done too.. and i need to repair the fuel cooler.. as that has a dribble but only on very cold mornings.
Lets see what else i can find... :D
