Well, giving this some thought as it occurred to me that all this work I am putting into my 110 it will most likely outlast me, and me being not much of a sharing person, wouldn't want anyone ELSE to have it after I'm gone, SO....I want to be placed inside it, an excavator dug long 'pit' with a decline, and ceremoniously rolled down to the bottom, and backfilled!.
Sort of a 'Viking' funeral.
Brian (Bearman) and I just had a larf about this very topic so anyone else got any weirdo ideas aswell?
JC (Sorry smilies don't work for me at the moment, not sure why?)

Only bad thing about that idea is that in 300 years, some robber will dig it up and the take it. I'd rather give my Landy to a Landy enthusiast than a robber :D

You're right JC.
Definitely a Viking funeral for me!!
Find an old bush track up in the Gulf country somewhere, put my remains (including the rum bottle and pickled liver) into the drivers seat. Start her up, set fire to her and send me off down the road. Way to go:D:D:D:D

Ha Ha, yes and I have a spare hand throttle assembly here that I won't need if they just roll me down into the pit, so you are welcome to it! 1st high range at 2000rpm there'll be no stopping you, until you reach the mangroves and then the fire will go out as it sinks below on the next high tide!!

Thought the idea of a Viking funeral was to leave nothing but ashes.
Reckon you're gonna have to better than bury it to kill your County.:D

I told Nay (the "Mrs") I want to be buried at YUNTA,
its slate country ! :)
when I was there they dug a grave for a bloke, 2 days- two guys
with small controlled blasts as well!! I figured that no matter what
happens at least two people would remember me until the day they died!!
(not fondly, but theyd remember!) :)
I think Nay has indicated that within a few years dead people will be classed as recycling and go in the green waste -- so I expect a 'roadside service' !!
(a council service :) )

Funny - we only had this conversation at home the other day...
I have always wanted to buried standing up. Use a hole borer, go down about 12 - 13 feet or so, and drop me in....
Now, as long as the hole is the right diameter, and not too big, all should be good...:D

And the muddies could have what's left after the fire goes out:BigThumb: Could be my way of giving something back after many years of visits to the Gulf country:D:D

A few years back we were at Bells Gorge in the Kimberleys when we came across 2 chaps in a Series 2 LR. They told us that there were actually 3 of them present.
A good mate of theirs had passed away and in his will he left his Land Rover and money to his 2 best mates and wanted his ashes spread across about 10 or so of his favourite spots in Australia.
They said that he had always asked them to come along on his adventures, but they were always too busy. They were fulfilling his wishes.
I will always remember this tale.

Bugger burial, as it's a waste of ground. (my humble opinion of course)
My wish (as I have related to my children) is to be cremated and my ashes spread from the top of The Castle in the Budawang Ranges in southern NSW. (one of my favorite bushwalking haunts) My guess is they'll be too old to walk there by then, so this may be left up to grandkids to comply..........if there ever are any.:p

Was it Spike Milligan who said he wanted his tombstone to read, "I told you I was sick".
