Hi all, Thinking of converting my 93 3.5 V8 Disco over to gas and the small petrol tank. Any reccomendations of who would be the best in Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast to do the job and what system would work well. Also what oil, plugs, leads, and timing settings would be the best to use. Many thanks, Bob

I suspect your answers will be found many times over in the LPG section.
Every workshop which quotes you for a conversion will have a different preferred system. My favourite system is collected from various sources and is not available from a single supplier. It allows both for maximum economy and power as it used an exhaust sensor driven LPG fuel processor. Hardly any other lpg fitter will do this as they are not required by law on the D1.
My 5cents worth: Impco is rubbish. Too great a loss of low down power.

Listen to Bee Utey!
I've just redone my P38 to a Bee Utey system and its definetly sooo much better than the Impco system that was on it.
You can't deal with anyone who knows more about gas on Rangies, and he is so helpfull.

Thanks Bee Utey, Any hints on what parts are the best and would a seqential system be the best? Also, what plugs are the best and what oil would you reccommend? would a change of camshaft be a good idea?
Thanks, Bob

Zavoli or OMVL converter
42mm ID mixer
GASTEC FP50-TOW processor, heated oxy sensor.
Bosch WR7DC+ spark plugs, 0.7mm gap
10 degrees BTDC timing at idle
Penrite HPRGas oil
EFI cam should be fine
Sequential isn't optimum as it relies on the LR petrol ECU for its signals and your vehicle hasn't got O2 sensors enabled. Very expensive for little gain. A mixer system can read its own sensor, quite cheaply.

Thanks very much. Just the info I need to make sure that I do not spend money needlessly. Bob
