Hi
Is it normal for the fuel pump in the fuel tank to run even though I'm driving with LPG?
Can I turn it off, it seems senseless to run this pump all the time and wear it out.
Cheers

VN Commodore fuel pumps are relatively cheap and easy to fit to a D1. By running the fuel pump constantly you keep the fuel injectors cool. The injectors are more expensive to change than the fuel pump.

If you were to introduce a circuit to cut the fuel pump I would suggest it remains running at least 20% of the time while on gas. To control the fuel pump you interrupt the earth path to the fuel pump relay. A suitable circuit could be built by any competent electronics handyman.

The pump is designed to run all the time the engine is running, would not worry too much about wearing it out. Some LPG installers cut power to the pump as well as the injectors when on LPG, better to keep it running and avoid injector seal problems.
