Just got home and went to open back door on our 110and latch was stuck!
There is nothing stuck in the lock, and I have pulled the door skin off and can't see why it would be stuck.

Hey Bob,

The possibilty is that the central lock actuator rod etc MAY be the problem, did you get the trim off with the door shut? Did you try the key in the barrel, does it feel normal?

Anyhow I'd hate for this to happen, I wonder if its possible to fit a backup latch.

Actuator rod is moving fine, got the trim off no worries. Key won't turn in the barrel. Not feeling normal.

How old is the the car, the reason I ask is my new D90 which I brought early last year would do the same. CL would work ok the key would work but the handle was locked solid.
I used a combination of the two several times and it would suddenly work.
I also had a problem when I closed the rear door, it would not quite shut properly at the top of the door, which I was going to get sorted at its first service then all of a sudden the door seemed to bed in and close completely shut and no longer has door handle jam ( I use the rear door alot for work gear) .
I got it looked at anyway on its first service, which they made "adjustments" aparently.
This may or may not have a bearing on your problem but has to be a first for a self fixing Defender fault...:D
It may be the latch just needs a release adjustment, hope this helps.

Cheers
