I'm fitting this now.

Can someone post a picture of the hold-down device that stops the battery flying down the road under brakes?

Mine had an okkie strap.

I can make one no problems but if I'm putting the resources in, I may as well make it orig rather than going off on a tangent like I did with the gear box crossmember.

I see no one has yet, so here's a photo of mine. It's just a 1/8" angle iron contraption which provides all the security you'll need.

Make it of reasonable dimensions so that it'll fit most any battery size.

I worked out where the hold-downs were & made it very simple to take advantage of modern no-maintenance batteries.

What is the bracket with the two holes for?

Does it face forward or back?

Very hard to tell from small photos, but I have always taken the standard battery tray, forward of air filter, drivers side, and put a transverse cut in the sides, and welded in extension pieces (about 60mm from memory) to enable an N70ZZ size battery to fit. And then just use supercreep hold downs.

What is the bracket with the two holes for?



Hello from Brisbane.

On my SWB S3 there is a similar, but not identcal, plate at the front of the carrier frame with two holes that hold the horn - someone else has also suggested this. An ignition relay also bolts on to the side of my battery carrier.
